Where is Corfu

Corfu is a popular island located in the Ionian Sea, off the northwest coast of mainland Greece. It is known for its

stunning beaches, picturesque towns and rich history.

The main port on Corfu is located in the capital city of Corfu Town, usually for sailing boats will leave from here or

Gouvia, a town with a big marina east facing allowing easy access into the Ionian Sea for south-bound Sailors.

Best Greek Islands/ Places to Visit from Corfu

If you sail out of Gouvia, here are some of the hotspots nearby that are a must

Petriti

Petriti is a small fishing village on the eastern coast of Corfu, known for its picturesque harbor and quaint traditional

Greek lifestyle. It has a few local tavernas where you can enjoy fresh seafood caught by the fishermen in the morning.

Paxi (Paxos)

Paxos is a small, peaceful island just off the coast of Corfu. It is famous for its crystal-clear waters and stunning

beaches, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The island also has charming villages with traditional architecture and

delicious local cuisine.

Antipaxos

The uninhabited island of Antipaxos offers the clearest of water and most golden of sand in the Ionian Sea. It is a

popular day trip destination from Corfu, with several boats departing from Paxos and Corfu town daily.

Fun fact - The Island back in 2021 was inhabited with a grand total of 21 people, and its size is only 4 square miles.
